The sad news of Prince Philip’s passing had an entire tribe far from the United Kingdom grieving his death. Melanesians, inhabitants of Tanna, considered Prince Philip a deity and he was a venerated being. According to an old prophecy, a soul from Tanna would go far away on the lookout for a powerful woman to marry. They believed it was him, therefore they worshipped him.

The Duke of Edinburgh passed away on April 9th at the age 99. Not long before his death, he underwent a surgery and remained hospitalized under observation, but he was then released, and he went back to the Buckingham Palace where he died a few days later.
