Vanuatu Citizenship by Investment Requirements
The Vanuatu Citizenship by Investment Program, launched in 2017, is the only initiative of its kind in the South Pacific, offering one of the fastest routes to second citizenship through investment.
Known as the Vanuatu Citizenship Development Support Program (DSP), and complemented by the Capital Investment Immigration Plan (CIIP), both options provide efficient pathways to citizenship.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, in good health, and free of any criminal record.
Eligibility requires a non-refundable contribution to the government, with CIIP also offering options tied to approved investments, providing added flexibility for investors.
Main Applicant Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be in good health
- Have no criminal history
- Successfully complete due diligence screening
- Obtain government approval
- Provide proof of verified investment/donation funds
Eligible Dependents
- Spouse of the Main Applicant
- Children (biological or adopted) under 25 years old
- Parents over 50 years old who are financially dependent
Vanuatu Citizenship Process
Step 1: Pre-Screening
Provide a scanned passport copy of the applicants above 16 years old to ensure they are eligible for the Citizenship Program. This step takes 2-3 days.
Step 2: 1st Stage - Due Diligence with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) in Vanuatu
At this stage, a simple set of certified documents must be submitted. This stage takes 10-14 days.
Step 3: 2nd Stage - Citizenship Application and Bank Clearance
To ensure a smooth process, the remaining documents must be submitted along with the second Stage payment. Once this stage is approved, you will receive an approval in principle letter. This stage takes 30-40 days.
Step 4: Oath Ceremony, Passport production and delivery
The Oath Ceremony is held online. Once it is over, the passports and certificatess are printed and sent to the desired location through courier (DHL). This process takes 7-10 business days.
