Vanuatu’s Beach Volleyball Duo Claim Bronze

Defeating New Zealand in a close match, Volleyball duo Sherysyn Toko and Miller Pata claimed bronze for Vanuatu at this year’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK – bringing the number of medals won by competing Pacific nations to thirteen from six countries, and including a first ever medal (boxing) for the tiny nation of Nuie.

Samoa was the Pacific’s most successful Games participant, bringing home a total of five medals – four silver, and one gold.

This is Pata’s second successive bronze – having been teamed with Linline Matauatu at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, where Vanuatu achieved its historic first medal in the same discipline.
