UAE-Vanuatu Relationship: Pioneering a Collaborative Future
In a landmark meeting, the UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, warmly welcomed Hon. Matai Seremaiah Nawalu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and External Trade of the Republic of Vanuatu. This meeting represented an important step in strengthening the ties between the UAE and Vanuatu, with both nations eager to enhance their relationship and explore collaborative opportunities across diverse sectors.
The dialogue highlighted the intent of the UAE and Vanuatu to bolster their bilateral relations, focusing on areas such as economic growth, renewable energy, investment, commerce, and development initiatives. The session provided a platform to discuss recent regional developments and to exchange views on various global and international matters, emphasizing the significance of their partnership in tackling worldwide challenges.
The UAE’s commitment to fostering global cooperation is evident through its ongoing engagements with Vanuatu. In 2019, the UAE initiated the Vanuatu-UAE Renewable Energy Venture aiming to advance the integration of renewable energy in Vanuatu. This initiative underscores the UAE’s wider commitment to promoting environmental sustainability and renewable energy solutions in the area.
The cooperation also encompasses facilitating Vanuatu’s active participation in international forums.
